Dunno whether to chiong O's or not, my result for end of year in 2010 sucks like shit man...
If Im Leaving CA i start right away....
All My subjects except for English...All subject borderline pass, English ok only...
If I slacked A Little This Year, I would have got retained or laterally transferred to Normal academic...
Thats how bad my results were, even thought all pass, its like 50+ only...
If i leave CA my results would improve, but CA , i would lose lots of things like maybe free gift or x2 gp exp? haha. i still got my 1 v1 wiith aidjie too...

BTW : Can gift me AK-74M Perm?

My Birthday coming...19 Nov, maybe can wait for black friday sales lah..
Hope it will not be one of those 18 perms that get retired in CA.....

If you're a self-motivated person, meaning you're really considering quitting CA to concentrate on studies, go ahead.

If you're half-hearted, you think CA is important too, then balance it out.
Play twice a week. Saturday and Friday.

As for studying, I find that writing down everything you have learnt, be it from PPT slides or textbook, into an A4 piece of paper helps in re-inforcing your memory.

People usually say studying and music don't mix. You simply won't be able to concentrate. But I find music a good distraction. In your O levels, especially your first test, it won't be so slack and easy. It'll be tense. So studying with distractions sometimes is okay.

What is not okay is Mugging.
Mugging basically means going 5 hours without breaks, just reading and reading.
Well, it's bad for your brain.

What you should do is study with someone else. Pick a spot, [changi airport usually crowded nearing the Os], maybe go to some far away place with a good friend. Study under the block. Take bus home, come home, shag already, go sleep.

I once got this friend, Farhan. We both Farhans. Same school, class, tuition. We before exams go to tuition half hour early sit below block there study chemistry sia xD And then when in class, if you know something, and your friend doesn't, you try solve his problem. If you can, means you good already.

I remember last year I study in front of TV from 12-2am every morning. Then after school stay back for night class. 7-9.30pm.

Make sure to give yourself a break though. You are not a machine, no one is Very Happy
If you feel stressed, go catch a movie. I advise against CA, since CA doesn't really release stress that much. Go outside interact with friends la, eat dinner all this.

If you study consistently, there is nothing to be afraid of.
Make sure when you enter exam hall, you know 100% of everything you need to know for that test.

O Level got a lot of tricky question to distinguish which students are diligent and which are smart.
Most average students can get answer to a particular Qn correct, but they also look out for your phrasing, etc.

After all, english originated in british =D which is where Cambridge is .

TL;DR
Study consistently, don't push too hard on yourself, ask for 1 on 1 session with teachers.

It's good that you're already starting to think of studying for O levels, but srsly, don't overdo it.

P.S 1 perm gun is $37 , I dnt think anyone besides your parents/girl will spend that much on you lah Very Happy

All the best to you and your future endeavours buddy.

It depends on what kind of person you are, really.

I'm a lazy, not self-motivated person when it comes to studies. That's why my L1R5 12, when my teacher target my score to be 8-9 ._.

If you die die can't control your hunger for CA, try this.

Go to school, pay attention, do a lot of practices in school, stay back after school to study.
Go home, play CA, watch TV, sleep.

Consistent revision is important because you will keep forgetting things as time goes by right.
Like today I tell you my pen is blue, 1 month later you forget what colour my pen.

=D

So everyday revision helps a lot.

So does doing a lot of test papers.
I never did the ten year series, because I forgot to buy it.
That book contain all the basic, common O level questions.

You can use it as a guide to see how well-prepared you are for O levels.

I can say 90% of O level questions are answerable if you study diligently, but there's that 10% that will really test your intelligence.

In short, constant revision is frigging important. Doesn't matter what your tactics are. You study at Macs, you study on your computer, anything also can. Mugging is not important.

Last minute revision is important !

And don't limit yourself too much. 2 days per 2 weeks, means once a week on weekends?
Sensible, but if you really cannot keep to this, then don't.
I think watching TV is more relaxing though.

xD
My crazy chem teacher once said, O Levels is like war. In war, what do you get? A sword and a shield.
If you don't maintain your armour [by constantly revising] you will feel very nervous. So u got no confidence to kill your enemy [answer the questions].
